Editing

The editing process

The editing took approximately 45 minutes to complete using the program Adobe Premier Pro CS6. I did things such as cutting a lot out that wasn't needed or went on for too long by watching each clip individually and selected the length of time and which part I wanted to use, then I would drag it down to the 'timeline'. When we was shooting we gave an extra 5 seconds before and after so that we could get all the footage we wanted. I cut down pretty much every piece I could until I was happy.

Once I had all the cuts lined up and had watched them through several times, I added the song to it. I did this by searching 'If I knew you were coming I'd have baked a cake' into YouTube and listening to several covers of the song until I chose my favourite and downloaded it. I wanted it to start exactly when the video does and fit nicely into the movements of the video, I did this by watching the video several times and fitting it to where I wanted to. I also let the song drag on a bit afterwards until it fades out for effect. I was quite happy with how well everything fit.

When we had a bit of spare time before we edited, me and Tessa made a logo for our video, we decided to do this because we was up to date on all of our work and knew we could do it quickly. We searched for some ideas on Google and eventually found a picture to trace around on Adobe Illustrator CS6. This was inserted at the beginning of the video and last approximately for about 5 seconds until it fades out. I also inserted some words at the end which lasted about 3-4 seconds. This said 'Made, Lived, Enjoyed' which adds character into the production.

I enjoyed editing it quite a bit. It was a loss less difficult than I thought as the program itself looks quite daunting when you don't know what you are doing. However I quickly got acquainted with it and understood it quickly and now I am quite confident with using it.
